OF OVEREATING (GLUTTONY)
Overeating (Gluttony) … Having a craving for food that conquers you
1 Corinthians 6:12-12
All things are lawful unto me, but
all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be
brought under the power of any. Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats:
but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication,
but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. And God hath both raised up the Lord,
and will also raise up us by his own power.
I will not be enslaved by anything. I
have one Master, Jesus Christ. I don’t want any other master, especially food.
1 Corinthians 9:25-27
Know ye not that they which run in a
race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And
every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do
it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run,
not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep
under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I
have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
I
conquer and control all contrary food cravings through the power of the Lord
Holy Spirit, and I say “NO” to them all in Jesus’ Name.
Isaiah
55:1-2
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come
ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come,
buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money
for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not?
hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul
delight itself in fatness.
I
give myself to being satisfied with spiritual bread, wine and milk. Physical hunger
and cravings now lose their supreme power over me. I experience higher cravings
and allow God to master my desires.
Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren,
by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable
unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world:
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is
that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2
Wherefore seeing we also are
compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every
weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience
the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of
our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising
the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in
Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things
are become new.
I
declare obesity is a thing of the past in my life and is gone away. It is now
an old thing. I am a new creation, a metamorphic experience and true
transformation is happening to me. I no longer have the ability to go back to
the way I used to be. I no longer settle for a temporary change. I allow God to
totally transform me, in Jesus’ Name.
Isaiah 11:2
And the spirit of the Lord shall
rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel
and MIGHT, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
Lord,
Your “Spirit of Might” gives me overcoming power to destroy all soul wounds
blocking my permanent weight loss. The problem is not what I’m eating, but
what’s eating me. Those soul wounds are stumbling blocks I now overcome through
Your supernatural power and might.
1 Peter 5:6-8
Humble yourselves therefore under
the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your
care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your
adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may
devour:
I cannot win this battle without You,
Lord, so I cast all my cares upon You. Power to overcome food cravings and
overeating is broken. Those personal and deeply painful soul wounds (say them
out loud) I renounce all agreement with them and they lose their power over me.
